The project was won through a single stage tender process commissioned by Tandridge District Council.
Following the completion of the tender stage SBC was awarded a Design & Build Contract for the construction of the new homes. The levels and gradient of the site added complexity to the design. Collaborative working with our design team and client ensured that the solution achieved was the most favourable for the scheme. Pre-planning conditions were cleared by SBC and construction commenced on this greenfield site December 2016.
The gradient of the site created its own problems during construction. Controlling surface water runoff and flooding during construction was paramount to the regular progress of the works.
As the project was located in a high-density residential area, with a local junior school in the vicinity, logistic management was critical to the project. Detailed logistic plans, traffic managements plans, and call off systems, managed by our vastly experience site managers and traffic marshals ensured the timely and effective execution of our logistic strategy.
This scheme was Highly Commended in the “Best Affordable Homes” category of the 2018 LABC Regional Awards
